Located in heavily Irish Sunnyside (and named after a bar in the Emerald Isle), the Courtyard is a solid watering hole with hidden charms. For example: The unusual recessed hooded lamps dispersed around the room are original flair designed by an interior-design-student buddy of owner Patrick Burke. There’s also the titular courtyard, a snug outdoor patio with enough tables and space for an intimate party (and a public grill on hand for summertime cookouts). The beer list isn’t bad, either, counting Magic Hat, Sierra Pale Ale, and the Belgian staple Delerium Tremens among its offerings.
Picnics with a view, roller-skating nostalgia, and a party for gay headbangers.
