It’d be rude—and probably incorrect—to presume that finance types are more comfortable in dark, richly-furnished rooms. But if they are (and again, that’s a big if), then they’d feel right at home at 121 Fulton Street. Set in the same space as the bygone Blarney Stone, the Fulton is a gastro-pub featuring high-end fare like tuna tartare, tapas and free range chicken, but also includes standard grub like burgers, sandwiches, nachos, and other food that you can melt cheese over. The scene tends to be a little older, but it’s a real mix of neighborhood folk and office workers just off the job. The décor is stark, dark, and heavy on the leather: black booths line the walls, and flat screen TV’s set into picture frames cast the only illumination. Not a bad place to grab a bite, watch a game, or celebrate your most recent hostile takeover. (They still have those, right?)
