Tucked away on a quiet block in the Upper East nineties, this craft cocktail bar shares owners with the neighboring Earl's Beer and Cheese. The exposed brick, red ceiling, and rustic décor feels like Brooklyn, though the cramped size of the narrow space—which, in truth, feels more like a hallway than a bar—is a giveaway of the neighborhood. Nonetheless, at quieter hours the vintage leather couches prove quite comfortable, and the cocktails are certainly noteworthy. The menu is comprised of slight twists on classics, like a Tequila Sunrise made with mezcal and the Guthrie Julep, which features spiced rum. More creative cocktails are designated either “Stirred and Boozy” or “Shaken and Refreshing,” like the Porcelina, which is made with potato vodka, Aperol, fresh lemon and orange marmalade. The menu also includes a respectable selection of bourbon.
