Although its designation as Brooklyn's only jazz/comedy café makes it sound a little lonely—or perhaps because the designation makes it sound in need of friends—this Prospect-Lefferts Gardens joint has booked some big names in the past, including Tracy Morgan, Donnell Rawlings, and Tommy Davidson. The jazz players are more well known on the local scene, as are the poets and actors who sometimes set up camp on one of the Ink Well's two staging areas. If those aren't enough activities for you to choose from, there's also a Sunday gospel brunch every other month, karaoke, and, on the nights where somebody must've made a mistake by not scheduling any community-flavored entertainment, just a chill bar to sit at and watch TV. On weekends there's sit-down soul food.Events
Jazz on the second and fourth Thursday of the month; comedy shows Sunday and Tuesday nights.
Picnics with a view, roller-skating nostalgia, and a party for gay headbangers.
