Run by a former manager of Red Rock West, the Iron Horse brings the same bra-clad bar-stomping spirit to the financial district. Unlike the trash trophies strewn about Red Rock's walls, the bar's narrow galley is bare—partially exposed brick, dark red-and-black ceilings—giving it the vaguest air of a workshop theater, which can't hurt to lure in the affably unruly professionals who stop in to loosen up or celebrate another thrilling office birthday party. The real entertainment is behind the bar, and then on it, as the scantily clad female bartenders swap actual bartending for choreographed boot stomping à la Coyote Ugly or a ride on the saddle suspended over the bar—even if it’s a weekday or the afternoon. Patrons, after downing a few too many of the $2 Rolling Rock cans or cocktails classily served in plastic cups, are also prone to give it a test ride. Other props (hula-hoops, maracas, a tambourine, and a rubber chicken) and photos (the bar aflame) hint at what's to come.
Picnics with a view, roller-skating nostalgia, and a party for gay headbangers.
