This new, unmarked Little Italy den has taken the lead on the drinking trend of the moment: custom-crafted cocktails. In addition to a modest drinks menu there’s just a chalkboard listing the fresh fruits of the day. You tell mixologist Jeremy Strawn or his colleagues that you want something sweet with rum, and you might get a white-peach-cinnamon concoction. Prefer citrus? Try a pomelo sour. Dark and spicy? Here’s a cucumber-chipotle whiskey daiquiri. The combinations will vary from day to day and bartender to bartender, but the cocktails, all $14, are always beautifully executed. For dinner or an accompanying snack, Chef Michael "Kiwi" Camplin (Boqueria) provides small plates like braised short ribs, fried Brussels sprouts and braised octopus.
