661 Sackett St. ,
Brooklyn, NY 11217

The owners of The Sackett placed their bar on a side street for a reason: they’re aiming to keep things quiet, in line with their relaxed Park Slope location. Inside, the space is simple but warm—brick walls, knick knacks tucked away on the shelves, and tiny café tables. There’s a juke box by the door stocked with indie tunes, and a sloppy blues-rock played on the house speakers. There’s an outdoor area, and a menu of appetizers and artisanal, oven-cooked sandwiches. There’s a couple of grown-up brews on tap (Six Point, Smuttynose) and a menu of classic cocktails, each with a modern twist. Their happy hour is pretty generous, too, highlights include $1 Genesee Cream Ales on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Best of New York: Fun & Nightlife
Cocktails at the movies, a Monday-night bacchanal, and a great rookie-rap show.
