Profile

Bondi Road owner Heath St. Claire adds to his Aussie-branded nightlife empire with this ruddy, saloon-like playland. The name and fuzzy, red cowprint on every seat surface is a send-up to St. Claire’s childhood pet cow, which literally died of sunburn. Ample seating for groups can be found both in the front room, lined with comfy booths, and on the enclosed back patio—a large, open space with cowprint-covered pews running along the walls. (This back space can be reserved free of charge for birthdays and other occasions). D.J.’s spinning indie-electronica, regular drink specials, and friendly, fresh-from-Oz bartenders ensure a lively mix of post-grind creatives and European ex-pats swilling pints of Coopers and shots of Moo Juice (fresh fruits like strawberries and guavas muddled with tequila or rum). In warmer months, the front porch bench is an excellent spot to watch the action on Avenue C.

Movie Night

Wednesdays are movie night, where Australian classics and national treasures like Eric Bana's first flick, Chopper, are screened.
