Owned by the same group that runs frat havens Stillwater and Reservoir, the Wharf boasts drink and food specials, blaring flat-screens, and an innocuous, entertaining vibe. The kitchen, which stays open till 2am, offers a mean menu of regular grill fare as well as enough fish and shrimp to satisfy the kitschy nautical theme that pervades that space. There’s a big lunch scene for the local business crowd, and the happy hours fill up with Murray Hill locals eager to sip on a few and watch a game. The beer selection (sixteen drafts plus bottles) is impressive, and the spacious outdoor area isn’t too shabby, either. Plus, the bar gets bonus points for including a few wines on its menu—sure, it’s just Sutter Home, but any Wharf in a storm.
