Tiki Bar lives up to its name: Grass and tribal masks adorn the walls, and the liquor selection boasts enough candy-colored tropical concoctions to supply a sorority party. The island motif would be cheesy if it weren’t such a pleasant surprise—with shabby bodegas and Green-Wood Cemetery as far as the eye can see, a little touch of the tropics is more than welcome on Sunset Park’s Fourth Avenue. Larger than it appears on the outside, Tiki Bar has a dance floor, a back garden, a billiards table, and even a computer with virtual billiards and other games, as well as Monday-night-football parties and occasional live-music.

Cocktails at the movies, a Monday-night bacchanal, and a great rookie-rap show.
