Profile

Tortilla Flats belongs to that species of cantina where you can scream "whoo-hoo!," make a lasso out of your Brooks Brothers belt and still find a date. Kitschy Elvis regalia and shiny streamers are tacked around the small one-room restaurant, which is always crowded with post-work young folks looking for a good loud time. On Wednesdays—or hula-hoop contest night—revelers are shoehorned into the space, and every night the bar goes through giant vats of sweet pre-mixed margaritas. Expect to finish several before your surprisingly good food arrives, although the host does guarantee "same day service."

Game Nights

Get rowdy with game nights, starting after 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday is bingo, Wednesday is the hula hoop contest, and trivia night is on Sunday.

Brunch
Brunch is served from Sat.–Sun., 12:30 p.m.–3 p.m.

Tortilla Flats

A jewel of the West Village! Good food, generous drinks, and a killer staff, especially Jean, the manager. This place really knows how to make people happy. The "Ernest Borgnine Booth" is a must see. Only a person with "an attitude" could not have a good time. I lived on the next corner for years and always looked forward to my afternoon cocktail after work. Maybe it's just me. I enjoy myself at a lot of places. It was easy at Tortilla Flats. And that DECORE!

Tiny Place Tiny Man

This place is tinier than tiny and the people don't stop piling in. The food is pretty good and reasonably priced. My Friday night was almost ruined, however, when I met the host. This host is an angry little bald man who bullies patrons. He should be behind the bar at some hole in the wall that serves only one type of beer, not greeting customers and "escorting" them (yelling their names from across the restaurant while throwing their menus on the table and walking away before they get there) to their tables.
