If you grew up anywhere near a trailer park (full disclosure: I did), you're over the kitsch assault of this Chelsea theme bar almost before you enter it. That's not to say that the place doesn't possess some redeeming qualities. Drinks are strong, and as an ode to poor taste the place has it all: One wall consists of the actual side of a trailer; beers chill in a bathtub filled with ice; and the ceiling is covered in the kind of tinsel you might find at a high school luau. But as much as the place purports to celebrate white trash, the mishmash feels like Trailer Park was concocted by someone who’s never actually encountered said social group. The place wants to exist for Southerners celebrating their heritage, but really it's for New Yorkers mocking their Confederate brethren; the novelty wears off pretty quick.
Best of New York: Fun & Nightlife
Cocktails at the movies, a Monday-night bacchanal, and a great rookie-rap show.
