Trinity is a welcome refuge for drinkers who've outgrown the usual Upper East Side bar crawl. With the look and dimensions of a private library, the brick-walled space fills up quickly, but because Trinity's clientele prefers making merry to getting rowdy, a full house feels inviting rather than claustrophobic. The fine British Isle beers on tap demand to be savored (and amply toasted), not chugged. And, most amazingly, a girl can drink solo here without being pawed by leering Lite swillers. Not that the bartenders or clientele are anti-social—they just know the difference between a cheerful Thursday-night bender and a hazing ritual.
Best of New York: Fun & Nightlife
Cocktails at the movies, a Monday-night bacchanal, and a great rookie-rap show.
