This cozy, straightforward wine bar is unassumingly tucked behind the Queensboro Bridge on a quiet Upper East Side block. The regular wine options here include 24 choices by the glass and 28 by the bottle, with selections—mostly your standard Californian, Italian, and French wines, with some New Zealands and South Africans thrown into the mix—topping out in the high forties, low fifties; the reserve-list options go up to $225, with the Peter Michael 'Mon Plaisir' Chardonnay. The small-plates menu is highlighted by the rich cheese tasting, offering the likes of Moutardier and Chaumes, as well as the petite turkey meatballs and prosciutto bruschetta. The space itself is comfortable, if a bit par for the course—soft track lighting, exposed brick, and high stools along a tiled bar.

Cocktails at the movies, a Monday-night bacchanal, and a great rookie-rap show.
