Located at the nexus of Williamsburg nightlife, Vera Cruz has kept the margaritas flowing for considerably longer than many of its upstart neighbors. In warmer weather, the restaurant's front windows open onto the street, spilling its perennial lines onto the sidewalk. Down more than a few of their jumbo frozen margaritas while waiting, and you'll suffer cranial meltdown the next morning. If you can find a stool at the wooden bar, you'll score free baskets of tortilla chips and spicy salsa that never empty. And when you're lubed up and ready for a burrito, just head for a table in the adjacent dining room. — Maura Egan
