There aren’t enough TVs to make Vesper a sports bar, and despite the sticky slate floors, there’s not nearly enough Schadenfreude to make it a trashy dive bar. It’s just a typical neighborhood college joint, located on a once-barren stretch of Myrtle Avenue and serving a sparse Pratt crowd with a beer-pong table and weekday two-for-one drink specials until 8 p.m. An outdoor deck, illuminated by Christmas lights and scattered with lawn furniture is located down a short staircase out back. Happy hour has $3 well drinks, but the $5 “pints” of Sam Adams, Yuengling, Bud, and Harpoon have a lot of growing up to do. — Ben Lebeaux
