The West End is a far cry from the down-and-out dive it was when Jack Kerouac and Allen Ginsberg were regulars—but it's also a far cry from Morningside Heights' fancy French newcomers. Owned by a Columbia alum, it will probably always serve flat beer, good burgers and loud frat boys—and despite the occasional protest, you'll probably keep coming back. There are few cheap pubs as convenient to campus, and if you're trying to find a place that will seat your entire Econ class, this is it.

good time, good beer, good food

Had a great time there. Really good food and cheap compared to most of NYC.They brew their own beer and it's good. Came back for late night and danced all night. A real college bar. Very relaxed. Oh, they have beer pong. A lot of fun.
