This feisty country-rock bar seems right at home in midtown’s lonely, far-western badlands (cue stray tumbleweeds). Walls are spruced up with Dallas Cowboys ephemera, Texas license plates, a stuffed longhorn bull head, and kitschy cowgirl pinups. Though the behavior of the barmaids in Daisy Dukes, shit-kickin’ boots, cowboy hats, and tight T-shirts falls short of Hooters heights for vulgarity, watch out when these ladies climb atop your table to administer generous bottle-to-mouth tequila shots. Eleven sports-spewing TVs, daily two-for-one margarita happy hour, and a surprisingly tasty Tex-Mex menu keep Dixie’s galloping through the day, but Friday and Saturday nights are truly unbridled with beer-pong tourneys, unlimited margarita specials, and D.J.'s spinning country, rock, and eighties tunes. If you come hungry, try the Bull McCabe Burger, a nod to the establishment’s former incarnation as the Irish pub McCabe’s.Service-Industry Night
Every Sunday, all local service-industry and hotel employees drink for half-price. Exotic dancers drink for free.
Picnics with a view, roller-skating nostalgia, and a party for gay headbangers.
