The former hum-drum Blarney Stone space has been transformed into an Irish-esque party multiplex incorporating three floors that progress from games to Gaelic to Gucci. A study in brick and warm wood, the downstairs bar is popular with locals who come for the televised sports and finger food, and occasionally to trade shots with one of the friendly barkeeps. The upper decks are worth a wander when open on weekends: The second-floor Sissy McGuire Tap Room, boasting floor-to-ceiling dark oak, red leather chairs, and an occasional Guinness sign, is traditional enough to make patrons start speaking with a brogue, while the third floor dance area attracts the well-healed who come to flash their duds: The décor is a bit too casual to pass West Chelsea muster, but the separate D.J. booth, leather couches, and array of colorful cocktails keep the place packed on weekends. In warm weather, smokers ascend to the leafy roof deck.
Picnics with a view, roller-skating nostalgia, and a party for gay headbangers.
