This nondescript second-floor nail salon is an ideal lunch-hour spot to sneak away to for a rigorous ten-minute shoulder massage and a basic manicure/pedicure. A block and a half from Fifth Ave., the salon's prices are lower than its neighbors', and the well-kept stations sparkle under track lighting and an abundance of natural light; a long wall of mirrors adds a nice illusion of depth to the rectangular, well-staffed space. Three somewhat makeshift waxing rooms stationed in the center of the room, however, aren't big on privacy—something to keep in mind if you're hoping for a discreet Brazilian. While it's likely that staffers won't be able to explain in English what makes the lotions particularly "special" in the spa manicure or pedicure, the Korean owner is quick to stamp a card that's good for a free manicure on your tenth visit. The salon also offers eyelash dye jobs, and a special paraffin manicure/ten-minute massage combo. Credit cards require a $15 minimum; note that you have to look above the Panini Totz deli to spot the neon "Nails" sign.
