The friendliest yoga in town. The walls here are pink, and owners Dana Flynn and Jasmine Tarkeshi refer to themselves as mystics. No surprise, then, that the vinyasa vibe is New Agey, exuberant, and community-building, with lots of social events.

Full disclosure: I am a certified yoga instructor. Since a friend recommended me, I thought I would take a few classes. Big mistake. The worst experience was on Christmas Day, when they had one class. It was so crowded that you could barely move even on your own mat. The instructor droned on and on, for about 15 minutes, not about something interesting or relevant, but rather her own ego massaging diatribe. The music (a lot of Christmas music!) was so loud, even after asking her to turn it down, even still instructions were unclear.
A complete waste of time, I will never go back there. Don't waste your time/money, there are plenty of other very nice studios.
LL is one of the best yoga studios in Manhattan. The instructors are top notch, not stuffy, informative and supportive. Classes often start with some chanting/singing and include music. Music selections can run eclectic - went to one with opera. I tried OmYoga and Jivamukti, as well, and while those are good too, LL seemed to have everything. One small note - the dressing rooms are small, best to go dressed for class. Bonus - they serve tea and cookies in the waiting room.
