Although rent hikes have shuttered several Tiffany Nail locations, the two salons left standing suggest that courteous service and attention to detail will generate enough loyal customers for a small chain to survive. With an entrance on 51st Street and a backdoor that spills into the Doubletree Hotel, the main hub in midtown provides full body massages and waxings as well as traditional manis/pedis. And while the clean, tiny Tiffany II doesn’t similarly offer Shiatsu and Swedish, it does possess a nice view of Gracious Home chandeliers to settle your nerves while your nail tips dry. Turnover at both locales can be slow as turbo prop fans are typically used in lieu of drying stations. Perhaps Korean owner Grace Kim’s time and energy is concentrated on her more elaborate pampering endeavor: Athena Spa in Murray Hill.
