Opened in 1994 by estheticians Ela Molczan and Lana Bargraser, Allure Day Spa is a spacious underground hive of pampering for all manner of midtown life, from artists and models to doctors and corporate worker bees. Not your average subterranean establishment, the bright space meanders into rooms for its various treatments: massages, scrubs, wraps, waxing, electrolysis, manis and pedis, and—unusual for a day spa—even hair salon services. Clients check their clothes and other earthly possessions at the reception desk in exchange for a plush white robe and slippers, then wait on a nearby couch, snacking on tea and cookies; from here, they’re led to whatever room or area their service dictates. Though popular for its one-stop-for-everything convenience, Allure is best known for targeted facials, administered by Queen Bee Molczan herself. These epidermal procedures address conditions like acne, eczema, and rosacea; along with high-octane, age-specific products like Cellex-C and Epicuren, Molczan also uses Douceur, the spa's own herbal brand applied with motherly wisdom and care. — Sarah Walker

Allure offers several half- and full-day spa packages for men, women, couples and bridal parties. All packages include lunch (and sometimes champagne) from a selection of local restaurants.
