Profile

After twenty years of styling celebrity photo shoots in London, Benedict Yeo hopped across the pond to open a brick-and-mortar enterprise. Setting up shop in Nolita, he draws his neighbors in with the promise of clean, shapely cuts, while maintaining a roster of British clientele. If you’re looking for a jagged, edgy look, Yeo can deliver, but his first instinct is to skip the thinning scissors, shun the razor blade, and deliver a more uptown style with graceful curls and smooth layers. A visit begins with a cup of green tea and an in-depth consultation to assess facial shape, hair type, and styling preferences. From there it’s off to the shampoo sink for a wash with organic Label.m products and a scalp massage. The $35 deep conditioning treatment uses an ultra-moisturizing masque, and dry heat from a contraption called a “Climazone” to give strands a noticeably silky look and feel. Prices for cuts start at $80 depending on the length and thickness of your locks. Consider it a major discount: Yeo’s going rate was closer to $250 overseas
