Like any good urban chain, Bloomie Nails caters to what New Yorkers value most: proximity, predictability and, above all, speed. As a result, Bloomie has become the queen of the city’s nail salon court. The branches easily squeeze in twice as many customers as your average nail joint, and somehow, no matter how busy they get, there always seems to be an available manicurist. It doesn’t hurt that locations are easily recognizable from the street, with their trademark cursive logos and big windows looking in on bright, immaculate, pastel-themed nail factories. Around $12 buys a meticulous basic mani, use of the racks of regulation beauty magazines, and your choice of channels on the mini-screen at the drying station. With the extra time (and money), you can choose from at least a dozen more elaborate procedures, like French pedicures, powder filling, or fiberglass tips. Though the menus vary by location, most franchises go well beyond their trademark nail services, applying the cheap-and-fast formula to waxing, massage, and even microdermabrasion. — Kate Jacobs
As a long-time customer, I was astounded to see the lack of good reviews for Bloomie that has served me for years. I believe that the problem is not enough people who are happy, go to the reviews. Well, my wife brought me one afternoon and we have not stopped going ever since. Hopefully if their listening, I want to say thank you for your amazing service, friendly employees, and super-clean store.
This is bar none, my favorite nail salon in Manhattan and I got to go for FREE this past weekend cuz I got gifted a LuxeNow nail salon giftcard recently (itÂ’s like SpaFinder, but for nail salons you can use all over the city, check it out at www.LuxeNow.com) . it is cute, cozy, and most importantly, very clean. They open new mini packages of sterilized nail tools right in front of you, which is about as good as you can get on that front. They are so sweet, and the ladies working there are very professional and meticulous. The one draw back is that they do take a while to get everything done--it is much more of a spa experience than an in-and-out nail painting--but it is totally relaxing and worth every minute.
