Profile
Gramercy grooming addicts depend on this spa for basic beauty treatments at convenient hours. Serving customers until midnight every night except Sunday, when the doors close an hour earlier, the spa’s bread and butter is its manicures and pedicures but Cleo II is ritzier than your average nail chain. Classical music creates a soothing atmosphere, potpourri perfumes the air, the pedi pedestals feature massage chairs and whirlpool footbaths, and the manicure seats are plush and adjustable. The mainly Korean and Nepalese employees apply all-natural creams from Switzerland to fingers and toes, and clients can choose from more than 350 Opi and Essie polish colors. The spa also offers waxing, deep pore facials, eyelash tinting, and hot body wraps. Stressed-out customers often stop in for late-night Shiatsu, Swedish, and Neuromuscular massages, performed in the back of the shop behind Shoji screens, or for a sit in the dry bio-stone sauna. At outpost Cleo Nail, less than a block away, prices are cheaper but there are fewer frills.
