After more than a decade in New York, Italy-native and stylist Davide Torchio has seen his longtime clients go from single, twentysomething party girls to chic mothers in their 30s. The congenial vibe is apparent in his two-story salon (or “the penthouse,” as he calls it), which he opened in the fall of 2009 with French co-owner Fabrizio Grimaud. The spot is outfitted with black-and-white marble floors, antique mirrors, oversize crystal chandeliers, and custom Italian chairs at each of the five stations. Torchio, a Warren-Tricomi alum, specializes in soft, face-framing layers, and the international staff also includes a stylist from Japan and a British colorist. In addition to cuts and color, the salon offers extensions, Japanese straightening, smoothing Keratin hair therapy, and makeup application.
