Open since 1999, Déjà Vous is the small, nondescript hair salon you’d walk right past, then do a double take: The display window is packed with 65 high-end European styling products like Phyto, Lanza, Alfa-Parf, and Alterna. Yet the real draw, according to owner Raphael Yusupov, are the quick-fire services that make the salon ideal for a midday trim or blowout. Fifteen Redken Institute–trained stylists man the cutting stations (each flickering with its own aromatherapy candle and a flat-screen television tuned to Russian MTV). Colorists use alcohol-, bleach- and sulphate-free stripping agents, and the all-natural three-hour Japanese hair-straightening process is the only service that could exceed your lunch break.
