Brooklyn-native Katia Grazia opened this small salon back in 2009 after noticing that in spite of the profusion of threading spots in the area, most were fairly bare-bones. Dhaga, which means thread in Hindi, is anything but, and quickly became a favorite for neighborhood residents and beyond—customers come from as far away as Long Island for its reasonably priced blowouts, haircuts, threading, and makeup services (the salon’s sweet-smelling chocolate wax is also very popular). The Indian theme carries through with the bright pink and orange walls in the front room where the haircuts take place. In a private room in the back, customers can receive massages, acupuncture, and facials with Repêchage and SkinCeuticals products. Henna tattoos are also offered for both individuals and parties, and Moroccanoil products are for sale on the shelves by the front door.
