Massage therapist Lauren Sweeney-Hampel opened Dharma Healing Arts Studio in January 2008 with a focus on attentive, unhurried service. The frills-free space caters to those seeking a solid massage and some relaxation, outfitted with two spare treatment rooms, an onsen room equipped with a large Japanese soaking tub (and therapeutic bath salts), and a private steam room. Treatments with any of the four practitioners on staff are preceded by a friendly, in-depth questioning to pinpoint areas of focus, and the spa allows 30 minutes between appointments to give clients time to ask questions or go over some post-treatment stretching regimens.
