Profile
A major force in the prestige cosmetics industry since the eighties, Trish McEvoy has earned a cult following with her luxe products and sophisticated beauty books. Her elegant makeup studio and skincare center—a joint venture with her husband, the renowned cosmetic dermatologist Dr. Ronald Sherman—is a 3,000-square-foot haven of beauty. Clients sit in the plush waiting room, adorned with plenty of McEvoy’s scented candles, before adjourning to one of the twelve art-deco treatment rooms or the warmly-lit makeup studio. Offering a full menu of injectables, fillers, laser hair removal, and cosmetic facials, the center’s real treat is McEvoy’s line of cosmeceutical-strength skincare products, used in all facial treatments. Clients from the tri-state area—with Upper East Side socialites and their daughters in heavy attendance—book well ahead for brow shaping, makeup application lessons, or a glam look before a special event. Though devotees pay top dollar for a lesson by the master herself, all the makeup artists here abide by McEvoy’s signature "half-face" method, teaching clients the basics on how to a achieve a professional look at home. At the end of the hour, written instructions detailing the techniques—and products, all of which are available for purchase—are an invaluable takeaway.
BridalFour months before their weddings, do-it-yourself brides come to McEvoy’s studio, where they get an hour-long makeup lesson and a kit filled with makeup, a makeup planner, and instructions (but no brushes). For a cute way to celebrate your engagement, reserve the space (and McEvoy’s undivided attention) and give your bridal party a makeover.
