Euphoria owner Susan Suh says that establishing relationships with her customers is as important as providing lovely manicures. Her loyal patrons, primarily locals, clearly appreciate her friendly banter as much as they do the salon’s creature comforts—like personalized nail kits that store everything from a favorite shade of polish to base coats and pumice stones. During the lunch-hour rush, office workers (many from the nearby UN) pack the modest salon, often filling the ten mint-green manicure stations and seven pedi massage stations to the last seat. Despite the presence of waxing services on the menu, nails are the order of the day. The salon’s signature pedicure (featuring a sea salt scrub, marine foot mask, and cucumber heel therapy) and a lavender hand facial can prove as soothing to some as the easy rock soundtrack that underscores it all. — Lauren Berger
