As the name implies, this no-frills retreat employs India’s time-tested approach to wellness; accordingly, sessions commence with a checklist analysis to determine your “dosha” or body/personality type: vata (skinny/nervous), pitta (muscular/energetic), kapha (fleshy/placid), or some combination therein. Ayurvedic-trained practitioners then gear treatments towards your given composition. Similarly, facials incorporate botanical masks mixed specifically for skin type, and, in addition to your average steam-and-cleanse, include a healing oil massage of the hands, feet, chest, and scalp. Just as Ayurveda has aimed to restore balance in its practitioners for the past 5,000 years, the services here look to do the same.
