Ria Fuentes opened Foxy, a homey salon on Graham Avenue, in 2010. The forest-scene backdrop, vintage gold-framed mirrors, and hanging terrariums lend a cozy, retro vibe to the smallish space with just four stations. Although a newcomer to the salon scene, Fuentes’s laid-back attitude and signature short and funky cuts have earned her a group of devoted clients. The neighborhood’s older Italian crowd may complain about the prices at Foxy, but younger folks are happy to pay between $50 to $65 for a woman’s cut and $40 to $50 for a man’s, especially when a complimentary glass of wine or beer is offered.
