Profile
Longtime stylist Anthony Dickey prides himself on being able to work with all types of hair textures, particularly the curly and kinky tresses often overlooked by the rest of the hair industry. The Oribe and John Frieda alum opened this midtown salon in the summer of 2009, naming it after his own product line. The spacious, second-floor space touts floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Ninth Avenue; concrete floors; and white walls accented with large-scale photographs from Dickey’s various editorial shoots (some by major photographers like Ellen von Unwerth). Though there are twelve stations, Dickey is the sole stylist, working only with two assistants and a part-time colorist. And while he might indulge his clients with a sleek blowout, he’s insistent on creating manageable styles that work with one’s natural texture, which can involve razoring off layers after the hair is dry.
BridalHairstylist Anthony Dickey is a longtime master of kinky, curly, and wavy hair, and his skills are on display at his midtown salon. Bridal trials start at $150. Wedding-day styles created in the salon are an additional $150; on-site styling is $300.
