With spectacular views of New York harbor and beyond, this vast loft space offers a natural light-drenched environment filled with music, waterfalls, magazines and books, and an exceptional collection of sculptures and paintings (including a series of original chalk sketches by Jean-Michel Basquiat). Founded by Dr. Lance Manning, a licensed chiropractor, the Institute offers individual holistic therapy aimed at returning patients’ bodies to their natural rhythms while addressing emotionally and physically taxing ailments like chronic pain, allergies, weight gain, and depression. Nutrition and detoxification are the focus; in keeping with this, the spa offers body treatments like salt scrub exfoliation, and a sweat sauna that can burn up to 1,000 calories per hour. Heaven’s signature treatment is the Deep Stone Massage, a combination of deep tissue work and hot stone therapy purported to improve lymphatic flow and circulation. The spa also offers intensive, state-of-the-art facials. A celebrity favorite, the Time Zone facial is an extravagant 90 minutes with a Biorenu machine (a milder form of microdermabraison that smoothes the skin), followed by an Iderm, an ionization mask designed to stimulate hydration and collagen production. Fruit- and vegetable-based Eminence products are used almost exclusively, but the spa also sells its own Herbvana line of organic handmade products.Extra
For celebrity clients who wish to elude the public eye, the Institute has a back elevator.
The relaxing atmosphere of Heaven's bright loft interior is the perfect place to de-stress before the big day. The "Just for You Massage," where therapists combine their entire repertoire of massage techniques into a personalized 60-minute session, will set any bride at ease. Wedding parties looking for personal pampering can schedule private events for groups of up to fifteen women, with privately catered food, champagne, facials, and body wraps (prices upon request).
