India native Hibba Kapil opened this one-room hair-removal oasis in Soho in the winter of 2010. Located on the second floor of a commercial building, the pink and olive-green India-inspired space exudes calm above the hustle of West Broadway. Kapil, who studied accounting at Baruch and began apprenticing at Queens beauty salons in high school, offers waxing and sugaring, but her specialty is eyebrow threading, which is done on one of two chairs. The procedure is as painless as waxing and takes under five minutes, and Kapil is precise, while honoring one’s natural brow shape. Sugaring and waxing, with a gentle wax made of chamomile oil, raisin, and azulene, are used for body-hair removal and done behind a pretty silk curtain in the corner of the room.
