Haraguchi, who started his training in Japan and spent years at Suga, Oribe, and Garren, is known for his cuts but is most popular for his extensive knowledge on chemical treatments, especially thermal straightening. Not only does he use the gentlest and most up-to-date techniques, but his signature conditioning treatments (made in Japan and not available anywhere else in Manhattan) help restore natural proteins to chemically treated strands, which keeps hair looking healthy no matter how drastically it may have been transformed. Popular conditioning options include the Green Protein Express Treatment and the Protein Hair Facial, a four-step process that includes a twenty-minute steam. Even if you keep your hair au naturel, a dose of one of these powerful conditioners will restore shine and help keep the frizzies at bay. This minimalist salon is known for its mastery of Japanese straightening and defrizzing techniques. Bridal updos start at $200, makeup application is $200, and the salon can be rented for “glamour” parties (prices upon request). Satoru is the bridal stylist; for great color, ask for Jane or Zane.

this is a great salon! 1) it seems pretentious, but it isn't - the people that work there are very nice 2) there is a wide range of price for haircuts $100 and up 3) there are yummy chocolate truffles when you come in 4) when you get your hair washed they lay you back on this chair with your feet up and put a warm blanket on you 5) great haircuts! 6) if it is a concern to you - kid friendly - i saw about 2 or 3 young kids probably around 8 years old+ hanging out while their moms got their hair done, the kids were great, and the staff seemed fine with the kids (since they were good ones, not screaming or anything) and 7) they have a toilet that is warm, has warm water that cleans you off and a warm air dryer to dry you off - weird, but awesome!
