With twelve locations in five boroughs, this national chain offers sunless tanning options citywide. The zero-ambiance storefronts are best known for their proprietary stand-up HT booths, which filter more than 90% of UVB rays. (Most local shops house about fifteen of the signature booths.) The company’s HT60 Ultimate 8-Minute Tan machine promises an evenly bronzed bod in three to four sessions while lower-intensity booths can take five or six rounds to achieve a base color. The salons also have UV-free 6-Second Spray Tans for which self-tanner, bronzer and moisturizer are applied in a vigorous, six-second burst. Single-session purchases are available, but the staff encourages proto-George Hamiltons and Donatellas to consider membership plans by the month, quarter or year. — Carolyn Murnick
