Owner Alan Chan opened this massive 15,000-square-foot spa in 2007 as a paean to pampering. All appointments begin with changing into a robe and rubber sandals, then it’s off to unwind in the lounge, a large room with plush leather armchairs and flat-screen TVs hanging from the ceiling. Each of the eight treatment rooms are comfortable and private, with gauzy canopies draped over the beds. Massages run the gamut—including Homme’s signature hot-towel version, a lava-stone treatment, and Shiatsu—and the skin-care menu is equally expansive, from the deep-cleansing Essential Facial using Dermalogica and G.M. Collin products to the anti-aging 90-minute Babor SeaCreation facial incorporating pearl proteins and sea silk. Off the lobby, a fluorescent-lit barbershop caters mainly to men, with three stations for cuts, coloring, and exfoliating gentlemen’s facials. A couple’s room and a larger treatment area is available for special events, but Homme’s regular clientele consists mainly of nearby office workers and tourists drawn by the spot’s convenient late-night hours.
