After training with celebrity stylist John Sahag and styling scads of editorial spreads, Arturo opened this contemporary one-man salon in 2002. Colorful artwork adorns fluorescent-painted walls and dangling light fixtures illuminate the cityscape through vast windows. A-listers like Shakira and Julia Roberts have been clients, but the first-name-only stylist is also quick to share his methods for budget-conscious day-to-day upkeep, conducting DIY-blowout lessons and walking clients through the products needed for maintenance. (Arturo uses Bumble & Bumble styling products exclusively.) For the menfolk, Arturo prefers a natural bedhead look he calls “the Chunk.” — Maiya Norton
