No nemesis to high heels, podiatric surgeon Suzanne M. Levine treats feet that have crammed too many hours in Jimmy Choos with a combination of laser therapy and injectable implants—the better to build up the cushioning of the soles and allow for less painful stiletto wear. Happier feet isn’t the only goal of Institute Beauté. Levine shares her four streamlined, white-on-white treatment rooms (each with a plasma-screen TV looping footage of gentle Caribbean waves washing ashore) with another doctor, Everett Marc Lautin, who specializes Botox, injectable wrinkle fillers, microdermabrasion, and laser treatments for sunspots, scars, and stretch marks. More recently, the clinic has expanded its menu to include Arasys, a procedure that uses electrical currents to stimulate muscles and firm tissues on the face and body. At 40 minutes, it’s not exactly relaxing, but afterwards you’re left with tighter-looking skin and—if before-and-after measurements are to be believed—lost inches from your waist and hips.
