The policy here is “don’t practice what you wouldn’t do yourself” so Radevich tests all the cutting-edge technologies on herself before adding them to her spa’s menu. The one she credits most for literally diminishing her Eastern European roots is long-pulse laser hair-reduction therapy. Ideal for fair-skinned, dark-haired women, this high-powered laser treatment blasts large swathes of skin which minimizes treatment time and the need for multiple visits. Another house specialty is hard bikini waxing—a mercifully less invasive technique that applies a heated stick of Egyptian Geranium wax directly to delicate nether regions sans applicator or cloth strip. Both services, along with microdermabrasion facials, have won favor with the Russian models and other local luminaries (Giselle Bündchen, Gwyneth Paltrow, Patricia Clarkson). Regulars also appreciate this spa’s discretion: Upstairs and downstairs areas come with private showers; none of the nail stations face the large storefront window; even chair massages, eyelash tints, and paraffin waxes are done in out-of-sight nooks. — Maria Zukin
