This intimate spa in the basement of the Empire Hotel offers a full menu of body treatments, massages, facials, and acupuncture. Opened by former architect Vivek Hans in April 2008, the spot touts a capable staff of twenty masseuses, aestheticians, and yogis. Two of the seven treatment rooms contain their own frosted-glass showers inside, and separate locker rooms for men and women are both outfitted with saunas and tranquil lounging areas. Many services here cater specifically to men, like the pore-clarifying Pure Performance facial or the Sports Pedicure, which incorporates a soak, scrub, cleaning, and hand massage. Others are devoted to expectant or new mothers, like a nourishing Pregnancy Facial that soothes skin flare-ups due to hormones. Couples or small groups looking to indulge can book the VIP suite, which features its own hydrotherapy tub, sauna, shower, and treatment area.
BridalThis salon and spa offers hydrating body treatments like the Elemis Exotic Coconut Rub and Milk Ritual Wrap ($125) to nourish and soften skin. Couples-to-be can lay side by side for a 90-minute deep-tissue couples massage ($370). For bridal-party bonding time, brides can rent out the VIP spa suite, outfitted with infrared sauna and hydrotherapy tubs ($300 for two hours, $100 per additional hour).
