Profile
Through her heavily touted (not to mention trademarked) art of fragrance-combining, famed British nose Jo Malone has garnered quite a Statesides following. Malone’s technique involves layering products made with unusual ingredients like nutmeg, ginger, fig and cassis, to create a scent that’s unique to the individual. Ironically, this spot for olfactory non-conformity has become so popular that the shops are frequently packed, making product- mixing questions tough to answer, much less smell, in the teeming throng. Luckily, all of the individual elements in Malone’s concoctions can also be used solo, and the rest of her line—including the deep-cleansing Skin Refining Serum with avocado milk or the cooling Apricot & Aloe Eye Gel— pack in benefits beyond the pleasing smell. Also on hand are pre-blended fragrances in signature, cult-favorite Malone scents like Basil & Verbena, Amber & Lavender and Lime Basil & Mandarin. A men’s skin care line features bestsellers like Pre-Shave Juniper Skin Tonic and an après-shave Protein Skin Serum.
