Profile

Warm wood accents, bamboo plants, and polished stones provide an earthy contrast to the pharmaceutical white and blue packaging of Jurlique's natural skin care line, and create an atmosphere in its store that’s more rarefied than that of mall-staple The Body Shop. The products here not only are free of artificial colors and fragrances, contain no animal content, and are never tested on animals; the internationally-loved, Australian-based company also farms and harvests many of the organic herbs and flowers that go into its holistically-designed cleansers, moisturizers, and creams, like roses for its Rosewater Freshener and lavender for its Lavender Body Oil. Even more sense-stimulating ingredients appear in bath and shower products, like lemon and lavender scented Citrus Shower Gel, and Arnica (a mountain flower) and Mint Shampoo. Baby's Calming Massage Oil, from a selection for infants, has more medicinal purposes but still smells wonderful, as does the spectrum of aromatherapeutic essential oils. In addition to the store, there's a spa in back, offering deep-cleansing facials, herbal-antioxidant and hot oil body wraps.
