After building a reputation based on laser hair removal services, Laser Cosmetica has steadily expanded both its number of locations and its menu of medical spa treatments. Because each of its branches is partnered with a different certified plastic surgeon, the décor and layout of the offices vary, but they generally have two treatment rooms and a consultation space. Founded by Ryan Bloch, Laser Cosmetica’s most popular service is laser hair removal, done with a chill-tip apparatus that helps neutralize discomfort (as does a numbing cream, if requested). Lasers are a big part of the spa’s program: There’s laser genesis, which helps reduce rosacea, and Titan tissue tightening, which firms sagging skin and reduces lines and wrinkles. Microdermabrasion, chemical peels, and photo facials are also offered. Not all locations perform the same services, so be sure to call ahead if you have a specific need. The spas carry Skin Cosmetica, the company’s own line, which focuses on acne treatment, oily skin, preventative care, and anti-aging. — Chrissy Persico

Paid $4000 2 years ago for laser hair removal.1st year was ok,received fairly regular treatments but since 2008 theyve completely oversold appointments&packages (greedy)& now cant handle volume of clients. Its impossible to get an appointment (1 in over4 months?), equipment=old, treatment results are poor, staff rude & unhelpful. I tried to explain 4 months between an appointment was unfair& was told that file of my no shows was why I was black listed, the rep read off a list of no show dates which was completely made up (at best proves highly inaccurate administration). In 2 years Ive only ever cancelled 1 appointment w/48 hrs notice. When I questioned this the phone was slammed down. I was finally referred to Director of Service Jenna who was equally unhelpful, didnt listen to a word, didnt offer any apology or explanation or try to rectify the situation. Im filing a complaint w/the Better Business Bureau (w/many others). Under no circumstances would I recommend LC and I am SHOCKED to see this a Critics Pick?? BEWARE: LASER COSMETICA=NO RESULTS, YOU WILL WASTE YOUR MONEY& THE SERVICE IS ATROCIOUS
