Yan Lu’s charming, one-room hand and foot spa is the antithesis to the quick-serve mani-pedi parlor: Lu welcomes clients with a cup of chamomile tea; three Moroccan end tables and chairs host manicures; and a cushy, two-seat bench sits atop large marble sinks for pedicures. The treatment menu lists seven nail-care options; all include homemade soaks and essential-oil scrubs. The ultramoisturizing Crème de la Crème is a winter salve; come summertime, the Citrus Breeze Float (a lemon, lime, and cucumber exfoliation followed by a citrus lotion) offers cool appeal. All treatments end with a polish application from an on-trend palette of YSL, Hard Candy, OPI, and Essie colors. Lush also offers face and body waxing in a small back room. Given the small space and the lingering 35-- to 50-minute pedicures, appointments are encouraged, though walk-ins can often find a weekday welcome. — Carolyn Murnick
