In business since 1978, Madison Towers Health Spa offers a classic approach to the spa experience. The menu consists of Shiatsu and Swedish massage—that’s it—but the expert practitioners and relatively low price make up for the lack of options. The spa also offers a jade steam room and Finnish sauna for customers to enjoy before their treatment, and a “hot floor” relaxing room to complete the experience. The floor and walls of the steam room are lined with natural jade stone to help improve blood circulation and eliminate toxins; the room has a slightly fishy smell—an unfortunate attribute of natural jade—but the moist heat helps your body release tension before your massage. The hot floor room is, perhaps, the star attraction: Bamboo tatami mats are arranged on the heated floor of a small, softly lit room lined with oak panels and imported Korean plaster. The room has a warm, woody smell and the heat is just hot enough to melt into your body without making you break out in a sweat.
Indoor surfing, spinning lovefests, a luxurious pig-placenta facial, and more.
