Tracy Piper practices alternative therapies with a “girlfriend, you listen here” attitude. Her herbal studies began long ago with her grandmother’s root remedies, but Piper’s personal calling has become colon cleansing, which she insists can prevent everything from wrinkles to cancer. Since the clinic’s opening, in 2005, this St. Thomas native has garnered a flock of devotees who make weekly pilgrimages: models scurrying in for pre-shoot slimming; high-profile clients booking time for acupuncture facials and aromatherapy-aided colonics. Clients emerge into the tangerine-walled lobby radiant and ravenous. If they follow Piper’s prescription, they’ll be lunching on steamed spinach and omega-rich salmon at nearby Balthazar afterwards.
